PYO Activities

Our Activities 

(1) Capacity Building

- PYO provides training and internship programs to Pa-Oh young people to improve their empowerment and critical thinking.

(2) Pa-Oh Literature and Culture

- PYO promotes Pa-Oh literature and culture among   Pa-Oh communities by distributing a monthly newsletter in the Pa-Oh language.

- The newsletter is also an instrument for spread the information about environment, human rights and political development in Burma.

 (3) Health Education

- PYO provides training on Adolescent Reproductive Health and on HIV/AIDS to young  people  and migrant workers  from Burma.           

                                              

            

(4) Environment

- PYO published reports about the environmental impact of the government iron and coal mining projects on the populations in Southern Shan State.

- PYO is currently monitoring the development of these two projects publishing regular updates.

(5) Gender Equality

- PYO promotes gender equality among young people in Pa-Oh community inside and outside Burma.

- PYO organizes women empowerment training to female activists.

(6) Human Rights Documentation

- PYO collects data on Human Rights violations in Pa-Oh areas.

- PYO distributes this information through publications and to Human Rights networks.

(7) Advocacy

- PYO advocates with the international community on Human Rights abuses in Pa-Oh area.

- PYO holds awareness raising activities among Pa-Oh communities inside and outside Burma on the
  environment and human rights.

- PYO organizes youth networks inside Burma for the promotion of human rights.
